Ladyfingers - A bifurcatum cultivar. This sire was purchased from Doug Eckel in March 2006. Characteristically, long slender fingers on long slender fertile fronds. Quite elegant, a favorite with the ladies.

This sire is ready to be re-boarded to a 17 x 17 redwood backboard but I'll probably wait until the pups get larger and take them (the pups) off at that time.

I've been successful growing this platycerium cultivar in the Huntington Beach, CA. climate - our winters are mild. This staghorn fern can take temperatures from 40 to 90 degrees and are kept outside year long. This cultivar prefers morning light or a dappled light all day with a mild breeze.

The mounting medium is AAA New Zealand Sphagnum Moss and then the fern is attached to redwood boards with 40lb monofilament fishing line, garden tape or other strapping material. When fertilizing - I use either Miracle-Gro or Superthrive every 3rd or 4th watering.

There is one small pup that is currently available for sale. If interested please e-mail me at tomsstaghornferns@gmail.com.
